Zonegreen Key Exchange Panel
Trapped key interlocking, which is set up in the Key Exchange Panel below the DPPS, is the most effective way to protect personnel from hazards, to prevent loss and setback due to equipment damage, and provides risk control and peace of mind to the highest degree.
It is a simple system, but incredibly effective in the rail industry. The power is firstly isolated, which means the earth proving key can be removed from the isolation stanchion and inserted into the key exchange. This then, in turn, releases the access key and traps the earth proving key. This means that the appropriate access doors can be opened, and personnel can safely perform maintenance and operations in the depot knowing that the power cannot be restored while they are working. Staff are therefore ultimately safe.
